Mayuree Waworschech points to the closet where the safe containing gold and cash was hidden. The heist was reported at Diamond Suites Resort and Condominium in Bang Lamung district about 1.30am by Mayuree Waworschech, 46, who returned from dinner with her family to find the room had been ransacked. She said the safe - where she kept gold jewellery including two rings worth 80,000 baht and cash of 1,750 euros (66,600 baht) - was missing. According to Ms Mayuree, her handbag with 175 euros (6,650 baht) and several important documents in it was also taken. Police said there was no sign of forced entry, but they found a sliding window open when inspecting the room for evidence.
